In the second semester the students learn a new way of modeling. This assignment was their first try into subdivision modeling.which was quite an adjustment in comparison with the low poly modeling they learned in 3D1. There are a lot more rules to take into account and we focus on mesh flow and topology.
Another aspect of this assignment is the light setup and the creation of procedural materials.
All examples below are rendered using the basic Scanline render in 3dsMax. In the next assignment we will switch to Mental Ray.
