Dear students,

 

The start of the academic year is upon us!

 

In order to allow you to smoothly transition to our program, we’ve scheduled an orientation week from 14 – 19 September 2025 (see the schedule below). During this time, you will be provided with all the relevant information you need.

 

These are the major abbreviations:

  • GGP: Game Graphics Production
  • IGP: Independent Game Production
  • GD: Game Development
  • GSI: Game Sound Integration
  • 3D: 3D Animation Production
  • VFX: Visual Effects

Schedule: First year students

Wednesday, September 16th

1st year - English curriculum

  • GGP + IGP: 8:30 AM – 13:15 PM
  • GD + 3D AN + VFX + GSI: 12:30 PM – 17:15 PM

Thursday, September 17th

1st year - Dutch curriculum 

  • GGP + IGP: 8:30 AM – 13:15 PM

Friday, September 19th

All 1st years: SIMON-TEST

  • 9:00 AM - 11:30 AM
  • For all students who are attempting higher education for the first time.
  • Location: Kortrijk Weide - The Penta (Sint-Martens-Latemlaan 1B, 8500 Kortrijk)

 

All 1st years: IT Fundamentals

  • 12:30 PM - 16:30 PM
  • For everyone who is not yet comfortable using a computer. Learn how to (un)zip files, install software, use cloud storage,...

Level 1: Connect, Play, Start!

The Level, Saturday 19 September

 

Kick off the year with LEVEL 1, our student event packed with games, clubs, and community!

 

  • Clubs & Activities Showcase: Meet student clubs, try out demos, and find your crew. Some of these activities are: combat sport, bouldering, film club, Magic the Gathering, and so much more! (13:00 PM – 17:00 PM)
  • The LANd Beyond: Our legendary LAN party kicks off at 13:00 PM and runs until 20:00 PM
  • Retro- and Student games: Play some retro games and student games! There will also be board games available. (13:00 PM - 18:30 PM)
  • Quiz: Test your knowledge with a fun quiz hosted by head master and lecturer Cedric (17:30 PM - 18:30 PM)

 

Come for the games, stay for the people. It’s the best way to start your DAE journey!
