The creaweek is one week of total anarchy on our campus. All the regular lessons for our first year students are replaced by four hour workshops about topics that normaly do not fit in our curriculum but that we consider to be more than interesting. Or workshops that act as teasers for classes in the second year.  The creaweek is organized by Jonathan Absil. Thanks to his network of traditional artists and backed up by the entire DAE team, this Creaweek was again a very inspiring edition!

INSPIRATIONAL MOVIES AND A PECHA KUCHA

 

We started of this creaweek with a some inspirational movies to force our students to get out of there comfort zone.

 

We also held a Pecha Kucha: (each speaker presents 20 slides and each slide lasts 20 seconds). Talks ranging from the Mona Lisa to Banksky and from Kris Kukski to Xia Xiao Wan. 


WORKFSHOP: NERF GUNS

Build sci fi weapons. Starting from a nerf gun (toy guns), we mod it to look like a real life sci fi weapon.


WORKFSHOP: SCULPTING

Learn to make sculptures in foam! We will first learn some "do's and dont's" of sculpting and then you start to work alone or in groupson on a sculpture. The material that we will use to work with is very soft, cuts easy and makes a lot of dusty, so don't wear your best clothes.


WORKSHOP: 3D TEXTURING

WORKSHOP: MODELING WITH CLAY

WORSHOP: MUSIC FOR ANIMATION

In this workshop we go further with the recording process, put video in the timeline, and work on putting sound with the image. This will be a more advanced course for people with some kind of musical experience or in- terest. By recording our own tunes, we will be making our own soundtrack for animation and film in small groups. We’ll be making soundtracks using voice, vocal sounds and sound effects using the mouth.


 WORKSHOP 3D SCANNING

WORKSHOP: UNITY TABLET GAME

In this 8 hour workshop, we will build a game (prototype) that works on windows 8 tablets and enables touch controls. We will start by building a small game together (a fruit ninja type game called fruit splat), and following that you will have to opportunity to build your own game idea that will work on tablets.
