With Compositing 1, students learn the core concepts and techniques of digital image manipulation for creating visual effects. This year’s end assignment ‘Too Many Students’, creates the challenge of implementing the classic substitution splice effect using modern digital node-based compositing techniques. Bringing back the birth of cinema where this effect was often used by the father of VFX, George Melies.  Showing their proficiency in basic compositing techniques like masking & retiming footage.
